Parasailing Koh Samui - Flying Over the Sea
Parasailing on Koh Samui is one of the most spectacular active experiences on the island. You are harnessed into the parachute, the speedboat accelerates and pulls the rope taut - and within a few seconds you are soaring 60 metres above the sea. Below you stretches the white sand of Chaweng Beach, the vivid blue of the Gulf of Thailand and the silhouettes of the nearby islands. No previous experience is required: all equipment is fully checked before every flight, and the instructor is with you at every stage.
How the Parasailing Flight Works
The speedboat moves out to the open sea. You are fitted into the harness and attached to the parachute directly on the boat's platform. As the boat picks up speed the parachute opens and you rise smoothly into the air - take-off and landing both happen from the boat, so your feet stay completely dry throughout. The flight lasts around 15 minutes. At 60 metres you get a sweeping panorama of Chaweng with its white beaches and hotels along the shoreline, and on a clear day you can make out the islands of Koh Tan and Koh Madsum in the distance.
Safety and Equipment
Safety is the team's top priority. Before every flight the experienced crew checks all harness fastenings, the condition of the parachute and the boat. The harness system meets international safety standards and a life jacket is provided for every participant. Personal insurance is included in the price. Parasailing on Koh Samui is open to adults and children alike - no experience is required, as the instructor explains everything before you take off.
Solo and Tandem Parasailing
Choose the format that suits you best. Solo parasailing delivers maximum adrenaline and full focus on the experience. Tandem parasailing on Koh Samui lets two people fly together on one parachute - a great option for couples, friends or parents with children who want to share the moment. For tandem flights, the combined weight of both participants must not exceed 100 kg. If the combined weight is over 100 kg, participants fly separately, one at a time.
