Sea Fishing on Koh Samui
Sea fishing is one of the most exciting adventures on Koh Samui. You head out into open water on a 60-ft traditional Thai fishing boat, rods already rigged, as the captain steers toward the best fishing spots - and the hunt begins. The tour is perfect for seasoned anglers and first-timers alike.
Fishing with Mr. Tu
Mr. Tu and his crew set out to sea every day and know every productive spot around the island. In the morning you'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the pier, where registration and a light breakfast await - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, pastries and chicken rice soup. After meeting the captain and first mate, everyone boards. The boat has everything you need: spinning rods, traditional rods, bait and lures, sun shade, dining area, toilet and a cooler stocked with drinks. All you have to do is cast your line.
The day combines bottom fishing and spinning. Mid-afternoon brings a break: jump into the water or ride the water slide fixed to the hull. After the swim, everyone gathers for lunch on deck - fried rice, chicken, prawns, fruit and a BBQ grill loaded with fish caught just hours before.
What Can You Catch
The waters around Koh Samui are home to barracuda, cobia, snapper, grouper, trevally, mackerel and kingfish. In season you may hook something much larger. The catch depends on the weather and time of year - but that's exactly the thrill: every trip to sea is different from the last.
Who Is This Tour For
Fishing with Mr. Tu is great for everyone - experienced anglers, families with children, couples and groups of friends. Beginners will be shown how to handle the tackle by the fishing assistant. Those who prefer not to fish can relax on deck, take photos, swim during the break and simply enjoy the open sea far from the busy beaches.
